Welcome to the home of Hungry City: Make Your Mark!

Now that school has started and fall is underway, Daily Bread Food Bank is excited to launch hungrycity.ca. This website is a destination for youth who are interested in learning about the issue of hunger in the Greater Toronto Area and doing something about it. It also includes some info for educators so they can help kids fight hunger.

Hunger can be a tough problem to get your head around. No one likes to think about people who have to skip meals because they cannot afford to buy food. Most of us know that hunger affects people in third world countries where resources are limited. Others automatically think of people they have seen who are homeless. But hunger doesn’t just affect people who live in far off places or people who are homeless, it affects people who live right here in our community. To make our community the best place it can be we all have to make an effort to understand the problem so we can try to solve it together. The fight against hunger starts here.

Keep visiting hungrycity.ca and our blog, so you can keep up to date on the exciting learning opportunities that Daily Bread Food Bank offers for students of all ages.
